New Moon, New Day ~ A Fresh Start to Improve Your Health

The New Moon in Virgo occurs Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 9:30 am PST and brings the opportunity to focus and improve your health, diet and exercise. Even though Virgo rules general physical health, it specifically rules the digestive system and solar plexus chakra. The solar plexus, also known as the third chakra, holds the key to our belief in our “self” and what one can and cannot do. It is the most crucial energy center to ensure our ability to create a happy, satisfying life.
This Virgo moon energy will assist in focusing in the moment and deciding what is right for you. Make a decision and move forward. This is a great time to reorganize and re-prioritize your daily life and daily routine.
How Can We Heal?
Illnesses associated with this chakra are digestive difficulties, gas, food allergies, liver problems, diabetes, gall stones, muscle cramps and spasm, depression, and difficulty breathing. Excessive energy in this chakra causes people to be judgmental, workaholic, a perfectionist, overly intellectual, and emotionally cold. Deficient energy in this chakra causes people to be depressed, have a lack of confidence, worry about what others think, confused, have poor digestion, be afraid of being alone, jealous and mistrustful.
To assist in healing and managing your chakra health, I offer these different techniques to enhance your overall well being.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Color therapy also known as chromotherapy, is often facilitated in the healing rooms of alternative health practitioners. Color therapy is classified as a vibrational healing modality. Vibrational therapy incorporates the use of ki energies within living organisms such as plants, gemstones and crystals, water, sunlight, and sound.
Conscious breathing is one of the few necessary bodily functions that can be performed consciously and unconsciously. Those who practice conscious breathing say they experience less stress, mental clarity and an overall feeling of well being.
Physical exercise is the performance of some activity in order to develop or maintain physical fitness and overall health. Frequent and regular physical exercise is an important component in the prevention of some diseases such as heart disease.
Meditation is a holistic discipline during which time the practitioner trains his or her mind in order to realize some benefit. Meditation often involves invoking and cultivating a feeling or internal state, such as compassion, or attending to a focal point, etc. The term can refer to the process of reaching this state, as well as to the state itself.
Guided Visualization is one tool can be used in the process of opening a cognitive communication between the conscious and subconscious minds. It is not a tool to create instant something from nothing. It does not demand that you “see something in your mind”, although many people using the technique do just that. You actually ‘perceive’ things rather than just ‘see’ because any of the five senses could be involved.
Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. It is a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Whatever the mind expects, it finds.
Affirmations are statements of acceptance that one uses to allow the manifestation of your destiny. They are powerful and positive thoughts and statements sent out to the universe. To do positive affirmations, you need to eliminate the negativity around you. You must first believe that YOU CAN manifest your destiny. It must be a positive, powerful belief not just ‘maybe I’ll try and see if this works”.

I accomplish tasks easily and effortlessly.
In a smooth and healthy way, I release all unresolved emotions. I claim my personal power.
Balancing with crystals/gemstones vibrate subtle energies, which can be attuned to match your personal vibrations to aid in healing and balancing. Colored crystals and stones are used to stimulate the seven chakras, located from the crown of the head to the base of the spine. The energy of each chakra resonates in crystals. When a chakra is not in harmony, crystals align and stimulate affected chakras.
Aromatherapy is the practice of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being. The inhaled aroma from these “essential” oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing. A form of alternative medicine, aromatherapy is gaining momentum. It is used for a variety of applications, including pain relief, mood enhancement and increased cognitive function. There are a wide number of essential oils available, each with its own healing properties.
The New Moon sets the stage for setting new goals, hopes and wishes. I suggest writing in a journal at least 5 but no more than 10 wishes within 48 hours after the New Moon. The optimal time would be within the first 8 hours.
