Often, it’s easy to love ourselves and yet we can be our own worst critic. Depending on your background and the beliefs you acquired as you’ve grown, you might vary in this area, but I urge you to take a self-assessment to see how well you love yourself. First, stand in front of the mirror and look at your hair, skin, body, eyes and smile. Do you like what you see? Are you happy with your physical appearance? If not, start writing in a journal to see where those disapproving feelings come from. Express your feelings so that you can address them and change your beliefs.

Next, take time to write a list of all the character traits that you like about yourself. What are your skills and unique talents? If this proves difficult, then ask a friend to help you to see the shining light radiating from within your spirit. Sometimes other people can see the best in us better than we can.

Loving ourselves is not a practice in selfishness or narcissism. The importance of loving yourself is that you feel whole and complete within your spirit. When you love yourself, you are thankful for the blessings in your life. Focusing on your assets and positive qualities allow you to overcome your challenges and unfulfilled desires.

Develop Inner Core Emotional Strength

The New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Cancer on July 1, 2011, gives you the opportunity to embrace the necessary changes that this eclipse is triggering. This eclipse will shake your world inside and out to clear your path to help you grow. This is a time when we can make big changes depending upon our reaction to this energy. Where is your attention focused? What do you want to resolve and release? What do you want to create?

Now is the time to focus on what your subconscious is bringing to the surface and face it. The emotional, empathic energy of Cancer will assist you in dealing with unresolved emotional issues that have been hiding below the surface. Self Mastery is changing the way you create your life. Through self awareness you can change your life but you cannot expect to change what you are not aware of. Self awareness provides the clarity to choose whether you express emotions of love or express emotions out of reactions of fear. Self awareness provides the possibility to catch yourself in that moment prior to saying something destructive or even thinking a negative thought. Self awareness is the means to identify your unconscious patterns and raise them in your consciousness so they can be changed. It is through self awareness that you identify and change the underlying core beliefs that drive destructive behaviors and create happiness.

Self-nurturing is taking care of YOU.  Many people put themselves at the bottom of their own list of priorities. The result is burnout, exhaustion and resentment. We are unable to be at our best if we don’t take time out for ourselves to rest, relax and renew.

Self-nurturing does not have to be difficult or overly time-consuming. Anything that helps us feel more positive and joyful is self-nurturing. Think about simple pleasures that speak to you personally and incorporate them into your life each and every day. Some ideas for you to consider:

• Be Grateful. Keep a Gratitude Journal. Write down 5 things you are grateful for each day
• Surround Yourself with Positive People
• Practice Kindness and Compassion
• Give Praise and Let Go of Criticism
• Stop  Complaining
• Listen to Music and if you can Dance
• Exercise Choose something you really enjoy, why not try a type of mind/body/spirit exercise   like yoga or tai chi
• Volunteer and/or Donate your time or belongings
• Seek New Experiences and Knowledge (why not try a holistic therapy such as acupuncture or that store you’ve always wanted to go in, but never took the time)
• Follow Your Bliss. Tap into your creativity, gifts and talents.
• Read a Good Book or Watch a Great Movie
• Laugh! It is the best medicine
• Seek Solitude at least 15 minutes daily through meditation or prayer
• Use Positive Affirmations
• Spend Time with Your Pet(s)
• Get Out in Nature. Try a walking meditation in the warm sunshine, spending time near the water, cloud watching or enjoy a beautiful sunset
• Get a Massage or Reiki/Healing treatment. Touch can be very healing
• Practice Relaxation Techniques/Relaxation techniques

The Prosperity Root Chakra

Our personal power and well-being originate in the root/first chakra. This center, situated in the energy field at the base of the tailbone, welcomes our spirit into our body and creates the necessary foundation with which we can begin life’s journey. Activated at birth when the umbilical cord is cut, it channels the life force into our physical body, concentrating its flow on the area from the tailbone down through the feet, helping us establish our footing and take our place in the world.

Our root/first chakra’s primary function is to assist us in meeting our basic needs for survival gracefully and with ease. Its mission statement is “I want, I need, give me, give me now!” It focuses our attention on what we need day to day in order to survive, and it stimulates our ability to reach out for and demand fulfillment.  It keeps us from internalizing the chaos of the world and helps us refrain from joining the chorus of “I can’t, I won’t, I’m afraid,” from which so many people suffer. It supports us in staying connected to our true spiritual source and creates a sense of belonging, of feeling wanted, of being a part of the community and of feeling worthy and worthwhile.

Purge for Prosperity

Are you in harmony with what you want?

If you are angry and frustrated, this is resistance. When your fearful and negative, you push away the very abundance and well-being you seek.  Instead, be proactive, forward focused and stay out of fear.

The root/first chakra can hold many negative emotions, feelings and thoughts concerning money and abundance that block us from receiving what has been intended for us to have; to experience, have and enjoy true joy and abundance.

Practice daily keeping your mind, spirit, heart and physical body clear of all negativity by clearing your chakras daily by listening to my guided healing chakra meditation and use this New Moon energy to set your serious intention. Scorpio inspires determination, and the courage to face inner demons and resistance, to break through to the other side.

The New Moon sets the stage for setting new goals, hopes and wishes. I suggest writing in a journal at least 5 but no more than 10 wishes within 48 hours after the New Moon. The optimal time would be within the first 8 hours.

Many Angels, Principalities and Ascended Masters were present to assist in releasing all issues. I was in awe of their beauty and unconditional love as they attended to each and everyone present by cleaning, clearing, and opening your heart centers instilling forgiveness. They really know how to work a room!! The Reiki energy assisted in breaking through stagnant blockages and then shifted into balancing your chakra’s (energy) centers. Please consider a salt mineral bath, smudge (burn sage) and resting your body by going to bed early for the next 2 weeks.

Please do not dwell on.. or loop back into any of your concerns or past issues from your list. This releasing process, depending on your circumstances, may take up to a month or two. You may even feel exhausted or just tired. This is normal and actually a very good symptom! I love this symbol and want to share its meaning and why I find it so relative to my practice. Upon researching its meaning I realized how profoundly appropriate it reflects my journey of growth and enlightenment. The Spiral is a sacred symbol that reminds us of our evolving journey in life.
